Wuxi AccoBio Biotech Inc. was founded in 2010 in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, on the shore of Taihu Lake. We are a technology-driven company specializing in the research, development, production, and sale of microbial fermentation products.
The company was founded by several PhD holders from China’s fermentation industry together with an experienced production and management team, and specializes in sialic acid and Bacillus coagulans. We began research and production of sialic acid in 2011 and currently operate two research centers and two production bases. Our production processes strictly follow China’s national food production regulations and the ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 management systems.
Product 1: Sialic acid (N-acetylneuraminic acid)
Sialic acid is also known as bird’s nest acid. Its chemical name is N-acetylneuraminic acid, and it is one of the eight essential glyconutrients for the human body. It is the characteristic functional component of edible bird’s nest, the traditional high-end nourishing food.
Sialic acid occurs widely in animal tissues and body fluids. The human body contains it as well — concentrations are highest in the central nervous system, including the brain, cerebellum, spinal cord, and retina, and it is also present in breast milk, saliva, gastric juice, serum, and urine. It forms a structurally and functionally important part of brain gangliosides and glycoproteins. Research indicates that sialic acid levels decline with age.

Its established functions include supporting memory and intellectual development in infants and young children, acting against age-related cognitive decline, supporting recognition and intestinal absorption of vitamins and minerals, antimicrobial, detoxifying, and antiviral activity, inhibiting leukocyte adhesion and inflammation, and supporting immune function.

As an emerging functional ingredient, sialic acid is of strong interest to manufacturers of infant formula, dietary supplements, premium nourishing foods, and cosmetics.

Product 2: Bacillus coagulans
Bacillus coagulans is a novel probiotic that was added to China’s list of bacterial strains permitted for use in food in 2016. It is a species of lactic acid bacteria with marked resistance to gastric acid and the ability to survive high temperatures.
It is a facultative anaerobe: it grows in both oxygen-rich and oxygen-free environments and adapts well to the low-oxygen conditions of the intestinal tract. It tolerates both acid and bile, carries out lactic acid fermentation, and the L-lactic acid it produces lowers intestinal pH and inhibits harmful bacteria. It also secretes beneficial enzymes such as β-galactosidase and protease, produces a range of B vitamins, and promotes the growth and reproduction of beneficial bacteria such as Bifidobacteria.

In the human body, Bacillus coagulans germinates in approximately 4 to 6 hours, and about 85% of the cells pass through the digestive system intact, eventually multiplying and metabolizing in the intestinal tract.
